Outreach Programmes

Organised and delivered by the Education Team at QOSM, this initiative is specifically designed to be delivered in the classroom, bringing the museum experience directly to schools. This approach ensures students enjoy a rich and accessible educational experience without leaving their learning environment.

The initiative offers a variety of innovative programmes that integrate sports, art, and literature. These sessions are thoughtfully designed to inspire students and develop their skills through engaging, hands-on activities. The programmes are suitable for all school levels—from kindergarten through Grade 12.

All activities are delivered in close collaboration with school staff, forming a partnership that promotes awareness of sporting values and emphasises the importance of physical activity, creativity, and well-being in students’ daily lives.

The Spirit of Olympism: Discovering Olympic Values

Explore the Hall of Athletes

As part of the workshop, students will also have the unique opportunity to visit the Hall of Athletes—a stunning gallery that celebrates the extraordinary achievements of 87 athletes from 44 countries. Representing 32 different sports, these athletes have not only broken records but also shattered boundaries in their personal lives and careers. The hall is designed to inspire, showcasing their accomplishments through text, objects, and cutting-edge multimedia technology.

Key Highlights of the Hall of Athletes:

  • Diverse Backgrounds: Athletes come from various countries, cultures, and gender identities—reflecting the global unity the Olympics promote.
  • Breaking Boundaries: The gallery features stories of athletes who have defied the odds and pushed the limits of human achievement.
  • Star Objects: Iconic items such as the F1 car, the Redgrave boat, and the America’s Cup boat illustrate the intersection of innovation, dedication, and excellence in sport.

Throughout the workshop, students will:

  • Discover the Olympic Symbols: Through interactive games and activities, students will explore the symbols of the Olympic Games and the powerful messages they convey about unity and excellence.
  • Engage in Team Activities: By working together and solving challenges, students will apply Olympic values in practice and build camaraderie—just like Olympic athletes.
