The Qatar Tennis Federation, established over 40 years ago, has played a vital role in shaping tennis in Qatar. This extends to the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, which has become the sport’s home. Today, the QTF continues this legacy through youth programmes and community initiatives.

Internationally, the Qatar Open has gained worldwide acclaim, with the women’s tournament becoming a prestigious Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 event in 2024. The men’s tournament will be an Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) 500 event in 2025.

Swiss master Roger Federer once expressed his appreciation, saying, “I feel very welcome here,” while Belarusian Victoria Azarenka described it as feeling like “a second home.”
